Star trek’s Mr Sulu wants costars to join him in long-awaited gay wedding
Star Trek legend George Takei has invited several of his costars to his same-sex nuptials. The actor, better known as Mr. Sulu, will tie the knot with his longtime boyfriend Brad Altman, on September 14 in Los Angeles. Takei, 71, has picked Walter Koenig, who portrayed Pavel Chekov, to be his best man and Nichelle Nichols, who played the role of Lieutenant Uhura, as the matron of honor. William Shatner’s name, who played Captain Kirk, doesn’t feature on the guests’ list, because they are said to be estranged. Apparently, the two argued during the filming over the way Shatner treated the other actors. Takei announced the happy news once the Californian Supreme Court allowed gay marriages last month. “Our California dream is reality,” he posted on his site georgetakei.com. “”No more ’separate but equal.’ No more second-class citizenship. Brad and I are going to be married as full citizens of our state.”

Congrats Takei, you’ve been alongside the same partner for nothing but 20 years! If that isn’t true love, I don’t know how to call it.
