Nashville Star tinged with pop rhythm

NBC surprised Nashville Star’s fans when contestants sang pop tunes in a country style on Monday. Show spokesperson Carrie Simons explained that the idea of the episode titled, “pop goes country”, was to “balance out country enough with people who think it’s still country and western, but it’s not.”  She brought calm to the audience saying. “we’re going back to country”.  But that wasn’t the only thing that confounded TV viewers, the Pussycat Dolls were supposed make a performance, and instead appeared Danity Kane. Simons said, “We booked last Thursday, and then Friday (their label, Interscope) wanted to add Clique Girlz, which didn’t make sense for the show.”

With so many unexpected changes, I’m not sure if on Monday, I’ll find the show on NBC.
