News of the World is reporting that Madonna and her husband, director Guy Ritchie, have split.  The couple married in 2001 and supposedly they’re going to wait about 18 months before announcing the break up.  This will give Madge’s reps time to start working on how the press will handle their split and what affect it will have on her career.  It will also give her time to make the jump back over this side of the pond to NYC.   I don’t think anyone really cares.  It was bound to happen sooner or latter.A source said, “Madonna and Guy are over. It’s all very amicable. They’ve just fallen out of love with each other. They just think it’s for the best as after some great years together they’ve been going their separate ways…Guy has failed to show up at events which are important to Madge. He just hasn’t taken as much interest as he has previously in what she’s doing.”

The couple hasn’t been seen together in ages.  There had also been rumors that Guy was upset by the way Madonna handled the adoption of their son, David Bana.   I don’t know what affect the split will have of Madge’s career.  I know one thing for sure; Elton John will be happy to have her ass out of England.
