It’s Opry Time For Carrie Underwood 

Former American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, is the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. The country music star joined the cast of the long-running country music show Saturday and was handed her award (a 14-inch bronze replica of an Opry microphone stand) and given her formal induction by Garth brooks.  

Carrie stated, “This really seems like a great family to be part of…I promise I’ll do everything I possibly can to not make you regret it.”

Opry management says artists are invited to join based on their commitment to the show, as measured by the frequency of their guest appearances, and their overall contribution to country music.
